Not UK? Change country
This is a different sort of Project In a box method template, with this framework we would create just one instance which is provided empty and the materials are added in in each category as appropriate by the discipline leaders in the organisation. It can be one person or the ownerships can be delegated as required.
The structure of the materials can be altered and the graphics changed to give a corporate look and feel as the practice matures and materials grow. As it exists on your server you can give access to all users to be able to view the content held there. They can use search to find materials within the framework library and links to policies and guidance can even be included in your project and programme method templates so that the access to versioned controlled releases of such content can be centrally managed.
Permissions control will mean that some materials can be hidden away from external parties or from different levels of users within the organisation.
Having a framework of this type and a structured way of providing access to this governance material is very important in supporting users and demonstrating maturity and development with frameworks such as P3M3.
We first proposed the idea of this method template to assist one of our large UK customers as we were assisting with their PMO set up. Since then similar frameworks have been proved and used by other well known organisations both in the UK and globally.
Taking this experience and turning it into a standard resource which is then provided for free to our customers is part of the benefit of working with PROJECT in a box, we condense the best practice so you don’t have to. Your adoption becomes easier and you stand on the shoulders of others.
