MSP Qualifications

Managing Successful Programmes is a standardised methodology and as with PRINCE2 it is possible to take exams to demonstrate your level of knowledge in the methodology and it’s application.  Although not popular on the level of PMBoK or PRINCE2, there are quite a number of accredited training providers who run both in-house and public MSP courses which include exams.  It is also possible to self study for the qualifications and then take the exams at one of the MSP open exam centres.

There are currently three levels of examination available for Managing Successful Programmes; Foundation, Practitioner and Advanced Practitioner and the exams are formatted as follows:

MSP Foundation

• Multiple Choice
• 40 Minutes
• 50 Questions
• 30 correct or more to pass
• Closed Book

MSP Practitioner

• Must demonstrate Foundation Pass
• Objective Testing
• Two and a half hours
• 9 questions
• 180 marks available
• 90 marks or more to pass
• Open Book (MSP Guide only)

MSP Advanced Practitioner

• Must demonstrate Practitioner pass
• Essay based
• Two and a half hours hours
• 3 questions
• 75 marks available
• 38 marks or more to pass
• Open Book (MSP guide and other study aids but no electronic devices)

MSP Re-Registration

All MSP Practitioners and Advanced Practitioners should reregister within 3-5 years of their original certification.
