Gateway reviews sit very well with PROJECT in a box as the inbuilt document assurance capability makes it easy to package together the documents required for the review along with checklists and other resources.
Process steps can be included for the Review periods themselves and the review report and recommendations can be easily shared with those who need access back in the next stage of the project or programme.
With PROJECT in a box a user with sufficient privileges can set this up themselves when required or these Gateways can be built more formally into your method templates so they occur in the same way each time.
Such a good practice could also be included in a light way on your methods. Contact us if you want further advice on including.
At PROJECT in a box we have a development pipeline for the products and also for the methodologies we support/provide for our users.
Gateway Reviews feature highly in our pipeline, we have already made contact with OGC on the subject and will be looking to implement later in 2009.
If you would be interested in being a Beta tester or just sharing your thoughts on how you would like to see this implemented, contact us and we would be delighted to discuss.
The OGC Gateway® Process examines programmes and projects at key decision points
in their lifecycle. It looks ahead to provide assurance that they can progress successfully
to the next stage; the process is best practice in central civil government, the
health sector, local government and Defence. The process is mandatory in central civil
government for procurement, IT-
OGC Gateway Reviews deliver a "peer review" in which independent practitioners from
outside the programme/project use their experience and expertise to examine the progress
and likelihood of successful delivery of the programme or project. They are used
to provide a valuable additional perspective on the issues facing the internal team,
and an external challenge to the robustness of plans and processes.
